YAKIMA, Wash. -- KIMA learned the Yakima Police Department is processing more shoplifting cases. The department said volunteer work by a retired police officer is paying off. Preston Brown started focusing on shoplifting cases in May. He's working for free, but processing about 20-thieves a week.

Preston works just one-day a week. That could expand if more help is needed.
