Yakima $11 million grant request rejected
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima did not receive a large federal grant from the Department of Transportation.
The city applied for a TIGER Grant worth 11-and-a-quarter million dollars. About half of it was for the MLK Underpass, which Yakima already obtained funding for through another source.
A good chunk of it would also have gone to improve the streets around the old mill site.
