Wapato headed to state for first time in 28 years
WAPATO, Wash.-- Dreams of greatness are playing out on the basketball courts at the Sundome. Wapato High School's girl's basketball team is one of them going after a state title. Students gave them a rousing send off today. They filled the gym to show their support before the team headed to the state tournament. It's the first time the Wapato girl's team made it this far since 1985. The team was thrilled with the response.

"Its been 28 years and so its something to be proud of and all the work we just put into it, it's finally coming into play," said Briana Cordova, a co-captain of the team.

After the rally the Wapato girls had a few hours to prepare for today's big game against Renton.
