WAPATO, Wash. -- Strip clubs and adult entertainment are allowed in Wapato. City Council passed the vote Monday night.

Council passed two ordinances that will govern the adult entertainment.

One requires the businesses to stay a thousand feet away from churches and schools. The second requires them to get a special license.

Business owners say it will bring more activity downtown.

Some neighbors think it will bring trouble.

"You know, they start drinking, they start getting the notion that, 'Well, I got this going for me.' And probably at home it would probably create problems in relationships and marriages and what not," Les Sampson said.

The mayor has five days to sign the ordinances into effect.
