Troopers gave nearly 12,000 speeding tickets in 2012
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Last year, state troopers stopped 17,954 drivers from Snoqualmie pass down to Benton City for speeding. About 12,000 drivers got tickets.

No teenage drivers were involved in deadly accidents on the highways.

Parents say the Grandview accident is one of those reminders for young drivers.

"Be careful out there," said mom Gina Orozco. "All the teenagers out there just get the word out just to be careful. Right now this kind of weather the way it is."

Troopers say the dangers of speeding only gets worse in winter conditions. Fines for speeding range from $113-$411.
