Students at Eisenhower still waiting for more drinking fountains

Students at Eisenhower still waiting for more drinking fountains
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Students are winding down the school year and Yakima's Eisenhower High School still needs more drinking fountains.

KIMA first reported the issue when the new school opened. Administrators blamed an oversight on the part of the design team. They planned to install more drinking fountains in the first couple of months of the school year. But, that hasn't happened. Parents complain that water isn't allowed in a lot of the classrooms.

"This school is huge, it's a beautiful school, but it's if you're in a science class at the very end of the school on 44th, you're going to go from there over to close to the gym for the water fountains," said Lynette Johnson, whose daughter goes to Eisenhower.

Administrators with the Yakima School District now say ten additional drinking fountains will be installed over the summer.
