Saving taxpayers money: Yakima turns to county for manpower
YAKIMA, Wash. -- The city of Yakima hopes to save tax payers money by turning to the county for some extra man power.

Yakima will now hire county engineers as needed for city projects.

The city says it only has one engineer and needs the help. Paying for private engineers would be twice as expensive.

Well, I think it's a good idea not to use private contractors. Make our taxpayer dollars go to good use. And to respect the taxpayers," Mary Munez said.

Yakima says it could use the extra help in upcoming city road projects.

The county is happy to pick up the extra work, as well.
