SUV crashes into Terrace Heights utility pole
YAKIMA, Wash. -- A car accident knocked out power to hundreds of homes in Terrace Heights for several hours. An SUV crashed into a utility pole around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday on Gun Club Road.

The impact destroyed the pole and damaged nearby lines.

Deputies said the 16-year-old driver was not hurt.

One person who lost power is glad it wasn't too hot.

"We went out for coffee this morning and went out and gassed up our truck and just tried to stay away from home, because it's kind of hard mostly in the dark with no water and no electricity," said neighbor Ernie Cornwell.

Crews got the power back on to everyone by 4:00 p.m.
