Police: Woman hit in head before fire killed her

YAKIMA, Wash.-- KIMA has learned the woman found dead in a house fire was hit in the head before the fire was set. Jerene Matta died from carbon monoxide poisoning in the fire. But, police now tell KIMA she also suffered trauma to the head before someone torched her home on West Greenway Street.

Matta's death was ruled a homicide. Police haven't made any arrests.
