Notice trash piling up along highways? Crews now cleaning it up
YAKIMA, Wash. -- You might have noticed the highways looking a little cleaner this week.

Earlier this year, KIMA showed you the trash piling-up along I-82 and Highway 12.

The Department of Corrections wasn't cleaning it because there was no supervisor on staff. And, the Department of Transportation was too busy with winter roads.

Now, crews from both agencies along with the Department of Ecology are back out there cleaning the mess.

"I know once it gets dirty, it gets all over the roads and it's really kind of annoying. So, it's nice to see the clean up out here and nice roads," Daniel Davis said.

Wash-Dot says it will pick up the bags of trash waiting to be collected.
