New multi-use building for Selah city services on the way
SELAH, Wash. -- Selah plans to build a new home for the police department, library and City Hall, all in one place. The city spent $200,000 on the land.

Right now, the city leases property for the library and police department at $90,000 a year. Selah bought two acres from the school district for the new building. Neighbors think it's a good idea to save money in the long run.

"I think if you're able to kind of save some money and kind of bring everybody together and kind of create a block of where everyone's a little closer and can function a little better, I think, by all means," said Ashleigh Rivard, who works in downtown Selah.

The move will keep all city services in a central location. Development plans should be finished within two years.
