MLK underpass bids roll in, construction plans move forward

YAKIMA, Wash. -- It looks like Yakima might have found a company to build the new MLK underpass following a Tuesday deadline for bids.
The lowest bidder is a construction company out of Woodinville.
Yakima budgeted almost $13-million on the project and the lowest bid came in nearly $2-million less than that.
Yakima says it provides some cushion for unexpected costs.
Once a decision is finalized, construction is expected to start at the beginning of the year.
