Local high school bans water bottles

YAKIMA, Wash. -- The issue with water at Eisenhower High School is expanding. First, the new school didn't include enough drinking fountains. Now, kids can't bring their own water bottles to class.

KIMA told you about the design oversight that limited the fountains on the new campus.

Students were allowed to bring their own water bottles - until someone filled theirs with something other than water. Now, the only option for additional water is to buy a bottle from the machine.

"I think it's kind of dumb because water is water," first-year student Cristian Rodriguez said. "It's H2O."

A Yakima School District official says this is strictly a school decision and the ban on water bottles will not be implemented in other schools.

More water fountains are set to be added over the summer.
