Kittitas County kick-starts flood damage projects
KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. -- It's a kick-start to prevent flood damage. Kittitas County leaders recently approved a quarter-million dollar loan.

The money comes from the Kittitas county road fund. The projects should minimize water damage in areas prone to flooding. Commissioners say it's important to get underway quickly after major fires last year.

Kittitas County voters recently-approved a property tax to raise about half-a-million a year for a flood control zone district. Money will be paid back to the road fund from those taxes.
