Kittitas County closes $1.5 million budget shortfall
ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- KIMA learned Kittitas County recently closed a $1.5 million shortfall in its budget.
Commissioners had to reject requests from several departments to add staff and issue cuts.
However, the county closed the budget gap without layoffs.
Kittitas County doesn't anticipate changes to service levels but say departments will be forced to operate with fewer resources.
