YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. --You have a little more time to turn in your ballot for the primary election.

As of this morning, a quarter of registered voters returned their ballots for Yakima County.

Yakima County's auditor hopes for a 34% turnout at the end. Kittitas County is pushing for up to 40%.

The turnout is considered typical. Most ballots are received on election day.

“It would always be nicer to see a higher turn-out, more people interested, but I'm sure that will pick up definitely for the general election," said Yakima County Elections Manager, Kathy Fisher.

Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by today to count.
