NEAR CLE ELUM, Wash. -- Hundreds of people near Cle Elum remain under evacuation orders. Ranch Road, Mountain Creek and Fir Tree are part of a level-three evacuation for the Lauderdale Junction area.

The Ellensburg Daily Record reports door to door evacuations were taking place Wednesday evening along Burke Road.

In some places, people were allowed back into their homes briefly to grab anything that's essential.

Once out of their homes, they need a place to stay. That's where neighbors have stepped up to provide beds and whatever comfort possible.
