Folks say neighbor's property looks like a junk yard

SELAH, Wash. -- A property filled with metal scraps, old machines and rusty cars.
It isn't a junkyard.
It's the front yard of a home in Selah. Neighbors say they're sick of looking at it.
"I would just like to see it cleaned up and look nice like the rest of the neighborhood," said "Victoria."
"Victoria" lives near the property and drives by it almost everyday. She didn't want to be identified for fear of retaliation.
Neighbors we spoke with say they like to keep their properties maintained and they understand this might be private property, but they say it's not fair they're the ones who have to stare at the eyesore.
I spoke with Yakima County authorities about the problem.
Any property considered hazardous can be slapped with the citation and fines. I found out two nuisance complaints have been filed in the past against the owners.
I spoke with the property owners who didn't want to be on camera.
They say they buy and sell old scraps for a living and try to keep the yard neat.
Yakima County says the mess isn't the only problem.Authorities say the owners filed for an animal kennel permit, but are currently not in compliance. They can't confirm there's a kennel operation, but it's under investigation.
Neighbors like "Victoria" say it ruins the appearance of the entire neighborhood.
"I don't know what they would have to do, ya know, to clean it up. It's just too close to the the road, too many people can see all that when they drive by," said "Victoria."

Yes, according to your own words   ".......,for twenty years." Thank you for confirming the fact that it has been there for 20 years.... .Ins't there something along the lines about "grandfathering" when it comes to existing structures and places such as this? . In fact i can tell you Mr or MRs Concerned, it's been there for nearly twice that amount of time. I've lived out past that residence since i was a child and i am 47 years old.   You see, these folks moved way out into the remote (at the time) Weans Valley to get away from people...such as yourselves.  The last time i checked, this great county still supports the rights of inidividaul people to live in the manner in which they see fit.doesn't it (?)  I have often asked myself if they were a registered tribal members, if people would still harrass and attack them about the manner in which they live. The answer,,,,,,"probably not" as there is clearly a dual standard about those sorts of things these days. Perhaps she should look into that for protection. She would find it .  Â
Additionally, "Victoria" considering how you go on and on about the fact that this is right up against the road, how is it that you possibly missed that "heap" when you decided to buy propery right next to it??  Ah...i get it....you just thought you could harrass and force your will upon another living peaceably next to you by demanding that they plant daiseys in the garden too...right? (hmmm....and how many husbands have YOU gone through trying to controll it all?)  ~Has is occured to you that not everyone wants daiseys along their roadway and spend hours and hours on their John Deer tractor like you seeking praise from your roadside floral attraction ...No?    Hmmmm.....yes i did pay attention to the slant of which KIMA shot the piece. But, What they forgot to "shoot" however, was the REAL front yard itself behind the fence. You know,,,The one that she doesn't share with you (as i am sure you would probably find something to pick apart about that as well even if she did! ) Yes, thats right, the "REAL front yard"  instead of the periphery that KIMA and Victoria deemed as their "front yard". If they had seen and filmed that (but didn't) they would find there is a lovely well manicured and cared for garden there....one that is loved daily with tenderness and watered by her own hand,,,much as her puppies that she so loves are. "her little world" You see, her little puppies are kept better than some people keep their kids.  In fact, last time i saw her, she GAVE me one of those puppies as i had recently lost mine to bone problems, and because she knew it would have a loving home with me. That is the kind of person She is,,,, you would know that if you would have taken the time to go see her yourself. But clearly you haven't. .  You see, all of these things behnd the fence....they keep her hands and mind busy and occupied from thinking of the loss of her beloved son a few years ago . a loss that left an immense amount of pain and saddness behind for her and questions she will never have answers too....You know what i mean don't you? No?  I mean to ask .....could you possibly know the pain that comes after the burial of your child?  Ahh......i didn't think so. ~ Lucky, LUCKY you.   But you are however, quick to judge and condemn another soul and put her up for persecution and harrass her for things and the follow ons you don't even know or much less even care about......only point to and condemn.. I see....you just want what you want and to hell with the rest right?  ~ In fact i would ask you whether or not you have ever stopped by and asked her for tea or even if she needed a hand with anything, or if you could help in some way. No?....i see... I get it...I know who you are....You can see youselves in the garbage that surrounds her home...it is a reflection of you.  and it is people like you who she builds those fences and walls for.. Â
Have a lovely Day "Victoria" and "Mr or Ms Concerned ". Yes....Please do return to your perfectly constructed pseudo egocentric and selfserving worlds and be sure to continue to ignore the truths of what exists in both yours and in the lives of others around you. Myself, i find it as YOU who needs "judgement" passed upon them a bit more "accurately".
A lot of homes in Yakima look like junk yards. And I bet you most, if not all of them do not sell or buy scrap for a living. The city should find a happy middle between home owners association standards and junk yard heaps, and fine the people who collect nastiness.Â
I've been driving by this horrid mess for over 20 years, it never gets any better. I think the county needs to step in and make them clean it up, at least move it down the hill behind the house where it can't be seen from the road. Also, there are so many animals on the place, I just wonder what kind of shape they are in.
