Fishing to help the Greenway

YAKIMA, Wash.-- An annual fishing event at Sarg Hubbard Park brought in more than a thousand people all to keep the Greenway nicer for everyone.

Families got to catch up to two fish in the pond and take them home for dinner. The Greenway foundation gave out a thousand t-shirts. Organizers tell us all the money from today's event will be used to keep the Greenway clean.

"Giving back to the community what they give back to us," said Yakima dad Mason Bowman who attended with his son, Brennen. "Also too, just preserves the natural habitat of the area as well so that we can pass the fun of fishing and the nature to our kids."

People paid $10 to enter the event. There's still no word on how much money was raised.
