YAKIMA -- KIMA tracked the response time for firefighters on one of their busiest days of the year, the Fourth of July.
We learned they got to a scene in less than eight minutes on average. Crews in the Lower Valley reacted faster than that. They averaged less than five minutes to get to a fire scene. This kept the flames to a minimum.
The response times on the fourth were actually faster than what you'd see on a typical day. Firefighters said they expected to jump into action.
