YAKIMA, Wash. -- Just days away from the Home and Garden Show Design Challenge, the finalists are putting the finishing touches on their plans. Today, KIMA followed a finalist as she shopped for items for the room she will design.

All contestants will have an empty room at the Home and Garden Show to decorate, paint and design however they choose. We followed along as a finalist shopped at Inland Lighting in Yakima.

"I'm excited just to put everything together and just have it look done and comfortable and so people feel like they can just go in there, and like they feel like they're in a house and not in a room inside the SunDome."

They'll all have eight hours on Friday at the show to design their rooms. The winner will be announced Sunday. They'll win $1,000.
