Father & son pass through Yakima on horseback
UNION GAP, Wash. -- A father and son are riding their horses across the state. Their trip has them in the Yakima Valley this weekend.

They're heading from Roy, Washington to Oregon. They expect to finish the ride in a few weeks.

Jay Adams wanted to do something special after his son's graduation.

He tells KIMA the biggest highlight is meeting people along the way.

"It's a heck of a story and we've met a ton of great people out here," Jay said. "Going through the towns there's always little kids out there that come out to their gates, you know. So we stop and let them pet the horses and if their parents say it's OK we'll give them a ride."

The Father and son left Union Gap Friday morning headed for Sunnyside.
