YAKIMA, Wash. -- You contacted us concerned about two dangerous streets here in Yakima. KIMA is taking action for you to see what's being done about it. They are the intersections of 72nd and Mead near West Valley Junior High as well as Sixth and Fruitvale near the new Stanton Academy.

We took those concerns to the city. Yakima's Streets and Traffic Division needs a grant to pay for a new signal at the West Valley location and, is considering adding signs in the area near Stanton Academy.

Yakima believes adding a signal near Stanton Academy would only make traffic worse.
