Crews push forward with $15 million Terrace Heights school project
TERRACE HEIGHTS, Wash. -- KIMA is following up on construction of the new Terrace Heights elementary school.

The project is moving along with the walls of a new gym already standing. The school was demolished to make room for a 15-million-dollar upgrade.

East Valley's Superintendent said the old building was beyond repair.

We spoke with former students who said watching the construction gives them mixed emotions.

"I'm excited but sad. Of course it was a really good school but it was kind of old; there were a lot of good memories there though," said former students Olivia Daughs & Kayla Stanchfild.

The building was paid for by a combination of state grants and bonds. Construction is expected to wrap up next year.
