MOXEE, Wash. -- Construction on a new craft brewery broke ground Thursday near Moxee.

The Bale Breaker Brewing Company is building a 10,000 square foot facility on land a few miles from its hops farm.

The company has grown hops in the valley for 80 years. The Brewery will be located on Birchfield road off of Highway 24.

Owners describe the building's design as "hops kiln" meets barn and think it will fit nicely in the area.

"We're excited to be coming back to our home community and not only being involved in the hop industry, but taking it further into our love, which is craft beer and bringing that awareness to the Valley," said Meghann Quinn, whose family owns Bale Breaker Brewing Company.

The new brewery is expected to open this winter.
