Community comes together over death of 2-year-old Kalob Contreras
WAPATO, Wash. -- Friends and family members of the two-year-old boy killed last week are trying to raise money for his family.

Little Kalob Contreras was run over by a semi truck in his driveway on Progressive Road in Wapato. Initial reports said he left his yard and crawled underneath the truck.

Volunteers washed cars for a cause. All of the proceeds went towards the Contreras family to help with funeral expenses. Family members and friends told Action News the community is coming together to help.

They began the car wash with a crew of two, nearly a dozen volunteers joined over the course of the day.

Family friend Rey Cantu, told us nearly 40 cars have passed through for a wash. And they have raised just over $2,000 today.

They’ll be back at it again tomorrow washing cars to raise funds. You can stop by Fiesta Fods from nine to noon to help this cause.
