YAKIMA, Wash. -- The holiday cheer is already starting for dozens of apple growers in our area.

As we inch closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas, some local farmers are anticipating a giant boom in apple sales.

Barrett's Farms is busy shipping thousands of apple gift boxes across the country.

The boxes feature fresh, polished Washington Apples. The owners say they sell more and more every year.

"It's showing our hard work. It's good for our business, we're a family-owned business, there's only one of us and it's nice to see people coming back and keep coming back.," Hannah Barrett said

Workers say they ship up to 50 boxes a week. They start at around $50.
