Better late than never: Voters rush to register
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Monday was the last day to register to vote in Yakima County. The Auditor's office was crowded with last minute voters.

In the last few weeks, they tell us about 40 or 50 people a day have come in to register. When we asked some of those people why it took so long to register, one woman told us she never thought her vote mattered.

"I didn't think my vote would count, but every person that comes probably thinks that," said one last minute voter. "But once we all gather together, that's a lot of people."

Ballots are already being sorted and counted in the courthouse. Also a reminder to those registered: You have to have your ballot post marked or in a drop box by election day for it to count.
