Rob McKenna talks to KIMA about Governor's comments about his budget plan
YAKIMA, Wash. -- During this week's tour of Eastern Washington, Governor Gregoire told reporters the prime candidates set to replace her are both "dead wrong" in their ideas to solve the budget.
We asked Mr. McKenna for his response to that.
"Well, we just disagree. We put together a finance plan that shows how we're gonna finance McCleary. It's unfortunate that the Governor now insists that the only way we're gonna fund the Supreme Courts
decision is by raising taxes. Ya know, this is the usual line from people in Olympia that the only answer is raising taxes even though the voters made it very clear they can't afford more taxes," Mckenna said.
McKenna's main challenger is Representative Jay Inslee.
We plan to ask him about the Governor's statements the next time he comes to town, as well.
