A city employee with four legs? Meet Murphy O'Rourke
YAKIMA, Wash. -- It's a place to pay your bills and let Yakima's leaders know what you think about the city's plans and decisions. But, we learned City Hall also has an unusual and experienced government employee.

Most call it the American Dream A corner office with family photos and a good job that brings home the bacon. But, we're not talking about Yakima City Manager Tony O'Rourke. No -- This American dream belongs to Murphy, his dog.

"He has a lot of experience hanging out in government offices," said City Manager, Tony O'Rourke.

With years of experience, this Golden Retriever is beyond qualified.

"He rules the roost around here for sure," said city employee Randy Beehler.

His co-workers shower him in love and gifts. The attention could make even the two-legged workers a bit jealous.

"He's a real womanizer," said O'Rourke. "Most of his friends are women."

All in all, Murphy is living the dream. He has food and water at paws reach, constant love and praise and an owner who not only manages the city, but still has time for a game of catch.

Murphy works at City Hall two to three times a week. He spends the other days at doggy day care.
