Thank You, Senator Deccio

Thank You, Senator Deccio

By Bob DiPietro, Sr.

In the years that I have been involved I have had the opportunity to meet and work with a number of politicians, some good, some very good and some that should be doing something else!

You can tell after spending time with a person what kind of legislator or
congressman they are going to be just by their dedication and the honest sincerity with which they approach their job.

Alex Deccio never left any doubt about his capability from the very first day, he didn't go to Olympia to compete, he went to the capital to work for his district.

He knew the odds were not in his favor and being from the Eastside he understood he had to find a way to get what his district needed without making enemies from the majority party. He learned to give and take and became a master of the art.

If one wonders if he was successful all they need do is drive by the Sundome, look at the Convention Center, take a stroll through the YVCC campus, to see what Alex has accomplished for all of us. His prints are all over almost every major project in this community.

While some politicians make ripples and others make waves Alex Deccio was an honest to goodness Tsunami, and for that we should all be thankful, we will miss you Senator, on behalf of a grateful community let me say a heartfelt, “THANKYOU!”
