Domestic Violence Awareness Month Events
October 12 12:00 PM 600 North Avenue, Sunnyside, WA 98944 509-837-6689 email@example.com
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Locally and around the state, individuals, youth, communities, schools, and agencies will be taking action to increase awareness about domestic violence.
The issue is critical. One in four women will be the victim of domestic violence at some point in her lifetime, and, on average, three women are killed every day at the hands of a current or former intimate partner.
Throughout October, communities across the country will mourn for those whose lives were taken by domestic violence, celebrate the tremendous progress victim advocates have made over the years, and connect with one another with a true sense of unity to end domestic violence.
Please join the Lower Valley Crisis & Support Services (LVCSS) for the following events in Sunnyside:
•March Against Violence on October 12, 2012 @12:00pm. Meet at LVCSS parking lot.
•Informational Fair – October 12, 2012 at Cornerstone Church on 4th and North Ave, immediately following the March.
•Clothesline Project Display – Sunnyside, Granger, and Buena Libraries throughout the month of October.
The informational fair event is designed to provide individuals, families, and the community the opportunity to learn about valuable resources that are available in our community. We would like to invite you to be a part of this fun and informative event.
The fair is free of charge and will be open to the public. We are asking participating agencies to bring a donation that will be raffled at the event. To confirm your participation, please complete the enclosed form and return to LVCSS by September 28, 2012.
