David Klugh
David loves connecting with people. And he’s been doing that as a television journalist now for more than 25-years. To him, news is about more than repeating facts and figures. It’s about developing context and perspective to the events that shape our lives every single day. He is also a bit of a risk taker. With just a year to go before graduating from Kansas State University with a degree in architectural engineering, David switched course and completed his degree in broadcast journalism. Since then, he has covered news around the world reporting on the Gulf War, live from the Middle East, to the worst natural disaster in U-S history, Hurricane Katrina. But it’s not the event that makes reporting such a passion for David… it’s the impact each has on the individual. From Kansas to Virginia, Texas, Florida, Arizona and Washington, it’s the community that matters most to David. “If you’re not leaving my newscasts with a better sense of what’s impacting your quality of life, I’m not doing my job,” David insists. David came to KIMA Action News from Tucson, Arizona where he was managing a news staff of more than 50 people. “This is where I really want to be and what I really want to be doing”, David insists. David’s free time is spent with his family, volunteer activities and hobbies. |
