Allied Arts of Yakima Valley Allied Arts of Yakima Valley focuses on developing artistic and academic skills, community enhancement and economic growth through the arts. From spearheading community art work like Millennium Plaza, juried art exhibits, Latino Cultural Film Series, Family Theatre Series to kids’ summer sessions in the park with the ArtsVan, Allied Arts touches all areas of the Yakima Valley with their programs. KIMA-TV 29 is proud to promote their programs and events and to be an annual sponsor of their Fresh Hop Ale Fest and Laughing Ladies and Merry Men’s Luncheon.

American Cancer Society KIMA is proud to sponsor and promote the American Cancer Society’s Annual Relay For Life, a 24-hour walk event to raise cancer awareness and funds for the battle against cancer.

EPIC—Enterprise for Progress in the Community KIMA-TV 29 is a founding sponsor of EPIC’s annual Playhouses on Parade, a unique fundraising event where playhouses, built for young and old, are auctioned and raffled off. KIMA is also proud to promote the services of EPIC, including the Crisis Nursery, Early Childhood Education, Youth Services and Ways to Work and other programs throughout the Yakima Valley benefiting children from infants to teens and their families.

Heritage University A unique university in Toppenish, WA, Heritage University was founded with the intent of bringing higher education to multicultural populations that have been educationally isolated in the lower Yakima Valley. KIMA is proud to support the programs of Heritage University.

KYVE, Public Television KIMA has been a strong partner of Central Washington’s public television station KYVE, since the beginning. Through occasional sharing of equipment and volunteer hours from KIMA’s staff and promotion of KYVE’s fundraising events, KIMA continues to support the unique educational role of public television in Central Washington.

League of Women Voters, Yakima County KIMA has long partnered with the League of Women Voters of Yakima County to bring viewers political candidate debates, forums on initiatives and referendums, and other information crucial to the voting process. KIMA is proud to work with the LWV of Yakima County to better inform our viewing audience on the workings of government.

March of Dimes, Central Washington A long-time media partner in the promotion of Yakima’s annual March for Babies (formerly WalkAmerica), KIMA is a strong partner in the efforts of the Central Washington March of Dimes, and their mission of ensuring healthy babies are born to Yakima Valley families. KIMA employees also frequently participate in “Jail and Bail” fundraising events and other March of Dimes programs.

The Memorial Foundation The Memorial Foundation works to meet the needs of the community by bringing people, programs and partners together to meet the emerging health needs in the Yakima Valley. The backbone behind many programs from Children’s Village, North Star Lodge, Better Breathers, Passport to Health and numerous other critical programs, KIMA proudly supports the efforts of the foundation by promoting their services and needs to the viewing audience.

United Way of Yakima County For over 50 years, United Way of Yakima County has promoted neighbor helping neighbor. KIMA has long partnered with United Way to promote their fundraising events. In rotation with other Yakima stations, KIMA produces the videos and public service announcements that tell the story of how the United Way works to improve lives in Yakima County. Additionally, staff members have served as “loaned executives” to the United Way, and employees participate personally by making annual contributions.

Wellness House For 20 years, Wellness House has been supporting cancer patients and others with life-challenging illness by pursuing their vision of “creating communities of hope and support”. KIMA supports the role of Wellness House in the community by promoting their services and fund-raising events.

YWCA Long a fixture in the Yakima community, YWCA Yakima works to improve residents’ lives by eliminating racism and empowering women. KIMA is a proud annual sponsor of the YWCA’s Leadership Luncheon, and is assisting with their capital campaign for their new facility, by creating a long-form video highlighting the programs and accomplishments of the local YWCA.

Yakima Folklife Association Recognizing that folk music enriches many lives in the Yakima Valley, the Yakima Folklife Association works to shine the spotlight on music that isn’t “mainstream” but is instrumental in building connections between generations of music lovers. Yakima Folklife Association hosts a three-day festival, free to the public, each July in Yakima’s Franklin Park and a variety of downtown venues. The festival is a tradition for music lovers and families alike and draws performers from around the Northwest. Additionally, through the winter months the brighten dark days with their Folklife concert series. KIMA proudly supports the efforts of the folklife association by promoting the festival and the concerts to our audience.

Yakima Greenway Foundation Founded to conserve, enhance and maintain the Yakima Greenway Path, the Yakima Greenway Foundation is steward to “The Jewel of Yakima”. Designated a National Recreation Trail by the federal government in 1993, the ten miles of paved pathways linking three parks, two fishing lakes and protected and natural areas, the Greenway enhances to lives of Yakima Valley residents. KIMA supports the foundation’s efforts by playing an integral role in their annual fund-raising event, A Case of the Blues and All That Jazz, held each August in conjunction with The Junior League of Yakima.

Rotary Club of Seattle Founded in 1909, the Rotary Club of Seattle is dedicated to "doing good" in the world. With approximately 675 members, it is the largest Rotary Club internationally, as well as the fourth oldest (hence their nickname, Seattle #4). Our members include some of the region's most prominent business, professional, and civic leaders. The Rotarian ideals are friendship, fellowship, and service to others.

Washington Roundtable The Washington Roundtable is a nonprofit, public policy organization comprised of chief executives representing major private sector employers throughout Washington state. The organization's formation in 1983 was spearheaded by George Weyerhaeuser and a group of state business leaders who foresaw a growing need to engage in and lend their expertise to important public policy issues.

Pacific Science Center In addition to bringing Seattle exciting and engaging events, exhibits, films and programs, Pacific Science Center stays focused on fulfilling their mission of inspiring lifelong interest in science, math and technology throughout our community and statewide. We constantly innovate our outreach programs, create new programming aimed at diverse audiences, and work with outside organizations on new collaborative projects.

King County Sexual Assault Research Center Founded in 1976 as King County Rape Relief, KCSARC has grown to be the largest sexual assault victim's service organization in Washington. Responsible for creating nationally recognized prevention education and therapeutic programs, KCSARC's work has been replicated around the country. Their original book, He Told Me Not To Tell, the first book ever published about child sexual abuse, has been printed in 10 languages in 8 countries and over a million copies have been distributed. KCSARC's pioneering work in collaboration with the King County Prosecutor's Office created a Legal Advocacy program, which is the model for similar programs in counties throughout the United States.

City of Hope's "Walk for Hope" Seattle Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer supports lifesaving breast cancer research, treatment and education programs at City of Hope. City of Hope is an innovative biomedical research, treatment and educational institution dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases, guided by a compassionate patient-centered philosophy, and supported by a national foundation of humanitarian philanthropy.

American Heart Association The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is: "Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke." The association's impact goal is to reduce coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by 25 percent by 2010.

Broadcasters' Foundation of America The mission of the Broadcasters' Foundation of America is to improve the quality of life and maintain the personal dignity of men and women in the radio and television broadcast profession who find themselves in acute need. The foundation reaches out across the country to identify and provide an anonymous safety net in cases of critical illness, advanced age, death of a spouse, accident and other serious misfortune.

Salvation Army The Salvation Army was founded in 1865 and provides services through its 107 branches to people worldwide who are in need. It is one of the largest social care providers in the World. Services include addiction rehabilitation, health services, social work, emergency response and family tracing.

Boys & Girls Club The mission of the Boys and Girls Club is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. With 12 full-service clubs, and 28 before- and after-school program sites, the organization is one of the largest of its kind in the nation, serving 18,000+ members annually. Program areas offered to youth include character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, and sports/recreation.

Leadership Tomorrow Each year, Leadership Tomorrow selects 72 emerging and existing leaders from the private, public, and non-profit sectors of the community to participate. The nine-month program provides those selected with a curriculum designed to raise awareness of the needs and challenges that affect the region, and enhance individual leadership skills with a focus on community stewardship.
