Early morning home invasion reported in Buena
YAKIMA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE -- On May 20, 2014 at approx. 01:12 hours the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, Toppenish Police Department and the Washington State Patrol responded to a residence located near Morrow Ln and Buena Rd in Buena WA reference a home invasion.

It was reported the husband of the residence heard a knock on the door. When he opened the door two younger males forced their way into the residence by pushing the husband backwards. The suspects, later described as two males in their early twenties, wearing all black clothing and hooded masks, both approximately 5’10” and slender build, were both armed with what the husband described as short rifles. The husband was ordered to get on the ground but refused and instead began pushing the males back towards the door and yelling at them to get out. At this time the wife of the residence arrived in the living room from the master bedroom. After seeing the struggle she yelled she was calling the cops. Both suspects then turned and ran out of the house. The victim’s did not suffer any injuries and no shots were fired by the suspects.

Upon law enforcements arrival a perimeter was established and a search of the area was conducted, but the suspects were not located.
