Hiker rescued on Mt. Adams
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash -- A hiker on Mount Adams is safe after a 15 hour rescue yesterday by the Yakima County Sheriff's search and rescue volunteers.

About one o'clock yesterday the sheriff's department got word of an injured hiker. The 39-year-old man had fallen in boulders and had a possible broken his leg and ribs.

The man was at about 8000 feet, and rescuers couldn't use a helicopter due to weather. Wilderness rangers were finally able to reach the man and get him down the mountain.
